Procedures for admission are as follows:

  • An application for admission is available upon request. It must be submitted with the non-refundable application fee of $25 (this fee may also be waived or ask for a voucher) to the school. This can also be completed online.
  • After the candidate’s application has been received, an interview with the Head of School and the candidate’s parents will be scheduled.
  • All candidates for admission to kindergarten through grade 8 are required to take an assessment for entrance. An appointment for the assessment will be made after the application is received.
  • A child must be five years old on or before August 31 to attend kindergarten.
  • Clara Science Academy has the option to request a letter of reference from the applicant’s current teacher for admission to grades 1 through 5. For admission to grades 6 through 8, CSA may request letters of reference from the applicant’s current English and Mathematics instructors.
  • The administration will take the following factors into account when considering an applicant:
  1. The extent to which a student can profit from an experience at CSA.
  2. The candidate’s scores on entrance assessment.
  3. Readiness level of 5 year old.
  4. The candidate’s previous school record.
  5. The enrollment of other members of the candidate’s family in our school.
  • The school has the authority to place the child at the proper grade level as indicated by the assessment regardless of age or grade completed prior to admission to Clara Science Academy.
  • The admission decision will be communicated to parents as soon as possible after the completion of all admissions procedures.
  • Within ten days of acceptance at CSA, the initial registration fee of $25 for grades K-8 should be sent to the school.

General Requirements / Admission Policy

Clara Science Academy school serving students in grades K-8. Admission is open to students who wish to pursue their school studies in a safe and caring learning environment and who meet admissions requirements. Admissions information is evaluated to determine if the student is prepared to meet the school’s academic and disciplinary standards.

Clara Science Academy school admits qualified students to its programs. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, or disability in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, athletic programs, or other programs.

A student who has been expelled from another school, who has not met the academic requirements of his former school, or who, in the view of Clara Science Academy school administration, has a history of serious academic or behavior problems, will not be admitted.

Student Shadow Visit Procedure

Feeder School Admission

For students entering from a feeder school, the following information is evaluated: the student’s overall school record, recommendation of the feeder school principal, and admissions interview when deemed necessary or appropriate. Priority is given to feeder school students whose completed enrollment applications are submitted by the registration deadline.

Transfer Student Admission

Students wishing to transfer from any state-approved school or home school must complete an admissions application, provide the indicated educational records, and schedule an admissions interview. The following information is evaluated to make an admissions decision:

• ID from parents

• Birth Certificate for child

• Child Social Security Number

• Health records

• The admissions interview

• School transcript

• Record of current grades

• Recent standardized test scores

• Discipline records

• Attendance records

• Recommendations from the previous school

Policy of Clara Science Academy

Where it’s clear that a student brings harm to itself or staff, In the event that a parent has conducted themselves in an unprofessional way, after being put on notice, a dismissal of the parent or student may be conducted under investigation.

Clara Science Academy reserves the right to make all final decisions.
